All things in life revolve around “choosing”, and to the average pluginhead that means choosing a new FREE plugin of the month over at Plugin Boutique. Furthermore, this month you can choose between Huracan from MNTRA or Space from Karanyi Sounds, to throw in your basket with your next purchase. Buy something twice and get them both, but that you would already know. You also know the deal ends at the end of the month, so at your leisure, both plugins will be waiting for you in the boutique shop until the 30th!

Huracan from MNTRA must have the most interesting background story of all plugin-time, because it features a wind- and percussion- instrument inspired by Mesoamerican and Andean antiquity, harbouring an ancient Maya wind-god that takes you through a portal into another timeline where ancient Mesoamerican cultures are never colonized and evolve to invent some otherworldly instruments and synthesizers with the most unique wind and percussion sounds.

Wow! Have us some of that, right?! The developer is said to be raised in the Andes mountains, and he sure knows his stuff. How so, you’ll have to experience for yourself, but imagine some uniquely interesting percussion sounds and winded instrumentation, supposedly sourced from MNTRA’s personal arsenal, that strap the unique potential of South- and Central-American cultures around a digital-audio leash for you to hold and steer.

Over to Karanyi Sounds’ Space, it features a reverberation unit focused on natural and clean reverb effects. It is a smaller and more compacted version of Poly space and uses the same DSP algorithms, but the interface is a bit leaner, constricting the tiny beast somewhat compared to its big brother but not in a way that diminishes its potential to deliver a vast variety of presets from hall to simulated rooms. We would definitely not mind some of that as well…
