As a relatively new player in the almighty game of plugins, Caelum Audio has already proven its worthiness since the first plugin they released. That worth is once again solidified with their newest product, the Flux Mini 2 modulation plugin with a price range between zero and zero, but with a plugin-factor of 11 and above. That’s right, Flux Mini 2 is forever FREE but packs a value of, let us say, more than what is asked, while it also aspires to the idea of “less is more”.
With a customizable graph at the centre of it all, Flux Mini 2 is meant to modulate, modulate, modulate. It can be used to modulate filter cutoff, filter resonance, amplitude and mix of any incoming signal. The graph serves as epicentre where the modulation curve is sculpted, and the amount of modulation is dialled in below each parameter. Tempo-fix and MIDI-CC complement the range of functionality, and a simple but effective and eye-catching GUI gives the eye what it so desires.
With either macOS 10.11 or above, or Windows 7 or above, your desktop can seat this plugin into its intended socket, and even iPads running iOS 11 or higher can plug it into their wall. Provided in AU, VST3 and AAX formats for desktop and in AUv3 or as a standalone app for iPad, few would have issues using it in their host application.
With such a broad range of uses, its simplicity is its power, as anyone using it will quickly notice. Yes, there are alternatives with more functionality, but as a FREE product, not much bad can be said about Flux Mini 2. That means you are advised to get it asap to see for yourself!
