Acustica weren’t joking when they released this brand new Pultec-style, germanium-based EQ and preamp for FREE on the 1st of April this year. Coffee The PUn is the latest IR based EQ from these guys and at that price, who can complain!?
The PUn is comprised of a two-band equalizer combining a passive bass equalizer, an active treble section, and a germanium based preamp. This plug-in is designed specifically to bring the sonic character of germanium Class-A transistors to the game. The sound is warm and sweet as for many ‘Vintage-style’ circuits, although the sampled unit is of recent manufacture. If you are yearning for those rich harmonics, velvety ‘air,’ and a little bit of saturation, this is the plug-in for you.
