Soundiron, a renowned name in the world of musical instruments, has announced the release of Aquae Organ, a free instrument library for Kontakt Player. This new product is a result of the company’s innovative approach to capturing the essence of musical instruments and their commitment to exploring new sonic possibilities.
The Aquae Organ was developed while Soundiron was producing the Alpha Organ library, which features two century-old full-sized pipe organs located in Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in San Francisco. The company took advantage of this opportunity to experiment with high-grade hydrophones, resulting in a unique stereo recording of the organs.
Soundiron recorded three different organ stop combinations with the Alpha and Omega organs. Each recording was designed to highlight a different aspect and distinct tonal quality of the organs. The company then used various sound-design techniques to manipulate the recordings, creating a range of pads, atmospheres, synth-like leads, and ambient dreamscapes. The library also includes 12 wavetables and basic synthesizer sustains and staccatos in a number of distinct waveform shapes.
The Aquae Organ library comes with a Kontakt interface that includes a suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls. Users have control over a variety of parameters including swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch, articulation switching, cross-fading, and layering. The library also features an adaptable LFO system, a customizable arpeggiator, and a modular FX rack panel with 27 different DSP effect modules.
The library also includes 12 lowpass, high-pass, and FX filters, with assignable modulation targets such as velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position, and step-sequencer table control. The interface also includes a key and scale lock system, which can be useful for easy melodic composition and live performance.
The modular FX rack panel is a notable feature of the Aquae Organ library. It includes 27 different DSP effect modules that can be assigned in any of 8 available slots, in any order. The Reverb effect includes 99 different rooms, halls, chambers, and outdoor environments, plus another 40 custom FX impulses. Soundiron has also included a bank of FX rack chain factory presets to assist users in getting started.
