Need something to make your mixes louder, but your current limiter(s) either screw up your master or just do not cut it? If so, then stop wasting energy in searching for a better one, because via Plugin Boutique you can now buy The Wall from Boz Digital Labs for only $35! Be quick though, this deal ends on the 22nd!
A brick wall as impenetrable as…well, a brick wall…that’s what The Wall offers. With such a name, how could it be otherwise? It is a one-trick pony with one thing in mind: to make your mixes as loud as humanly possible without ruining their shine and polish. But actually, this pony has a few tricks hidden up its single sleeve.
This is a mastering limiter that preserves the punch and dynamic character of your mix while driving it really loud, and ease of use is the name of its game, with only 3 algorithms to use, together with a custom-built ‘flavor’ control that combines more than 30 variables into a single slider without having to worry about attack times, lookahead and other such variables.
It also offers up to 8x oversampling to prevent intersample peaks, stereo link/unlink and dithering, and even though it emulates a solid wall of bricks, it is light as a feather in normal use. Of course, its weight increases when using oversampling, because no matter how well it works, it cannot break the laws of sampling. But even in heavy usage at the highest oversampling rate, it manages very well and never feels truly obese.
As with all Boz Digital Labs plugins, it is available in VST2, VST3, RTAS and AAX for Windows and macOS, and there is a demo should you feel the need to see just how firm The Wall can stand before you permanently erect it in your mixes. Boz Digital Labs in general offers more than decent quality products, and The Wall may certainly be counted among its most satisfying plugins. And instead of turning this quick article into a wall of text, we’ll just take a step back now and let you do your thing…over at Plugin Boutique.
