Minimal Audio comes up with an innovating way to set a waveform shape adrift, and now comes with the hybrid processing engine ‘Rift‘. This is an unforeseen rhyme but that’s no crime, so just grab this deal in time and all will be fine.
Past the joking though, this wicked new effect plugin is available for $75 (reg. $129) at a neat 41% off for early adopters but ends on a dime in a limited time, so don’t procrastinate until it is too late.
Note to self: what’s with the rhymes…
Cool with the rhymes. But what is this ‘Rift’?
In short, Rift is a modulatable hybrid filter and distortion unit with separate control and settings for the plus and minus parts of the waveform…
To say it bluntly, she’s bipolar.
But rather than some freaky mental affliction, this means she can differentiate settings between the positive and negative polarity, and offset the null-axis, of any waveform. The level of control given to do this is impressive and the results feel truly innovative, aided by visual and physical modelling feedback and an intuitive UI.
The unit is marketed as a hybrid distortion engine but rather feels like an intricate and highly controllable and modulatable filter system with distortion and saturation functionality. However way you turn this critter though, it combines both in a brilliant blend of musical finesse and distortion-sated grunge, with enough knobs and buttons for us to go ‘woot woot’…
There’s even a level of ‘tune-ability’ with transpose control, pitch snap and MIDI tracking that adds that touch of musical finesse we just mentioned. But the most addictive part of placing this ‘Rift’ before the output signal of your sounds must be the curve sequencer to define whatever custom curves you can think of, assignable to any parameter and with a preset section to save, load and manage them.
Cherries!
This could not be without that proverbial cherry on top, so Minimal Audio includes a 400+ preset bank of inspirations you can randomize. But they add a second cherry atop of the other, with a free set of sounds once every two weeks, to skim off the top for anyone subscribing to their newsletter.
There is even a 30-day return policy set in place, showing the developer’s confidence in his product and that if you try, you will very likely buy. But it is there for those who for some reason don’t like the ‘Rift’ inside their DAW.
A Rift and a gift in an almost half-off $75 loot …and a ‘woot-woot’. Just like any exciting plugin deal should!
