About Us

PLUGINDEALS.NET is a partner site to Audio Plugin Guy. We built it for Audio Plugin Guy readers who want to save money on audio software: one place to compare prices, see a plugin's price history and know whether a deal is really a good one.

How We Collect Prices

Every day we check the prices of more than 21,000 plugins, instruments and sound libraries at 20 stores, including developers' own stores. We record every price change, so each product has a price history going back as far as June 2022. When a store stops listing a product, we stop showing its offer within a few days.

Developer-wide sales, introductory offers and free plugins that the stores' price lists don't cover are added by hand. See Developer Deals and Freebies.

How We Rate Deals

A store's "was" price doesn't tell you much: some products are on sale more often than not. So we compare today's best price with the typical price: what the product has usually cost over the last 12 months at the cheapest store selling it. A product needs at least 90 days of price history before it gets a rating.

• Exceptional Price: the lowest price we have ever seen, and at least 15% below typical.
• Great Price: the lowest price ever and at least 10% below typical, or at least 15% below typical and cheaper than it has been for 90% of the year.
• Good Price: at least 10% below typical.
• Typical Price: within 10% of what it usually costs.
• Above Typical Price: up to 25% above typical.
• High Price: more than 25% above typical. Worth waiting for a sale.

A Record Low is the lowest price any store has charged for the product since we started tracking it.

Accuracy and Your Final Price

We show prices in US dollars, as the stores list them for US customers. What you pay can differ:

• Stores may show other prices, or another currency, depending on where you are.
• Sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout.
• Stores can change prices at any time. Ours were correct when we last checked them, usually within the last day or two.
• Upgrade, crossgrade and loyalty prices depend on what you already own.

Always check the final price at the store before you buy. If you spot a wrong price, tell us at contact@plugindeals.net.

How We Support Our Work

Many of our links to stores are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the store may pay us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never affects which deals we show, how we rate them or the order we list them in. Commissions are how we keep the site free.
