A randomize button is included for generating unique sounds, adding an element of unpredictability to the creative process.
The library comes with over 100 presets, including pads, leads, effects, retro synth sounds, chiptune effects, vintage factory presets, and waveforms. This extensive collection provides users with a broad palette of sounds suitable for various musical genres and styles.
The settings menu offers fine control over various parameters, allowing users to adjust individual master volume controls, filter tracking, and access nine additional filter types and three additional formant types. Other adjustable features include velocity sensitivity, polyphonic and monophonic playing modes, transposition, fine-tuning, routing controls, and randomization settings.
WideFire by United Plugins Now Available for Free
Expiry: March 19th
United Plugins has announced the release of WideFire, a new saturation plugin now available for free. This analogue-style plugin is designed to enhance audio production by introducing a novel audio widening technique. Based on user feedback from the DarkFire plugin, WideFire aims to offer a unique approach that goes beyond the capabilities of traditional wideners.
WideFire is engineered to provide a natural and expansive stereo field while maintaining excellent mono compatibility. It achieves this by saturating the audio signal, applying a widening algorithm to the added harmonics, and blending them back with the original signal. This process allows the plugin to create stereo content from mono sources, making it a versatile tool for audio producers.
The plugin is particularly effective in adding width to vocals, guitars, and synths, transforming mono recordings into stereo tracks, and enhancing the stereo image of any audio source. Users can expect a wider, more immersive sound without sacrificing clarity or introducing unwanted artefacts. The plugin adds a sense of space and excitement to tracks, bringing them to life in a way that is both subtle and impactful.
WideFire features a photorealistic and flexible graphical user interface (GUI) that can be resized to suit user preferences. It offers a free 15-day unlimited trial, allowing users to explore its capabilities without saving limits, noises, or boundaries. The plugin supports 64-bit audio quality at any sampling rate, including 192 kHz or higher, ensuring high-fidelity sound reproduction.
Additional features include a smart bypass function to avoid clicks or harmful noises when automating parameters, and an intelligent sleep mode to conserve CPU resources when processing is unnecessary. Users will also benefit from free-for-life updates, ensuring compatibility with current operating systems and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
WideFire is compatible with both Mac and Windows systems. For Mac users, it requires macOS 10.10 and later, with support for Intel and M1 Apple Silicon processors. It is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. Windows users need Windows 8 or later, with support for Intel and AMD processors, and can access the plugin in VST, VST3, and AAX formats.
