Tone Empire Releases EDYN Preamp Saturation Plugin as Free Download for Mac and Win

Tone Empire has released the EDYN Preamp Saturation Plugin, available as a free download for both Mac and Windows users. This plugin emulates an iconic pre-amp from the 1960s and 70s, known for its punchy sound.
The EDYN Preamp is compatible with VST3, AU, and AAX formats and can be used on Windows and macOS systems, including those with Apple Silicon, Intel, or AMD processors. The regular price of the plugin is $59.00; however, it is currently offered for free until May 20th.
The EDYN Preamp features a discrete transistor preamp model that provides a bold presence with fast transients and deep low-end authority. Key controls include:
- Drive Control: Adjusts input gain for saturation/compression.
- Out Control: Modifies output after drive adjustments.
- AG Switch: Enables auto-gain compensation.
- OVD Switch: Activates an overdrive model for heavy distortion effects.
- Phase Switch: Flips the signal phase.
- Z Switch: Allows switching between 50 ohms and 200 ohms impedance models.
- I/O & Filters: Includes input/output trims along with high pass and low pass filters.
The sound characteristics of this plugin are described as bold and punchy with midrange clarity and dynamic impact. It handles transients smoothly while adding analog weight to audio signals. The result is a mix-ready finish that enhances presence without overwhelming other elements in a mix.
The EDYN Preamp is suitable for various applications including vocals, drums, percussion, bass, synths, guitars, keys, and live instruments. It adds fullness to vocals, enhances punch in drums and percussion, provides harmonic weight to bass without muddiness, adds grit to guitars and keys, and captures energy in live instruments.
The system requirements for using this plugin include a 64-bit host supporting VST3, AU or AAX formats. It requires Windows 10 or later or macOS Mojave or later operating systems. Compatible hardware includes Apple Silicon processors or Intel i5 processors (or later) as well as AMD Athlon 64 processors (or equivalent). A minimum of 2 GB RAM and 300 MB hard drive space are needed.
The EDYN Preamp supports several digital audio workstations (DAWs). On macOS systems it works with Logic Pro, Ableton Live version 11 or higher, Protools version 12 or higher along with FL Studio Cubase Presonus Studio One Reaper among others. On Windows systems it supports Ableton Live version11 Protools version12 FL Studio Cubase Bitwig Presonus Studio One Reaper among others
The installation process involves downloading either the .pkg file for macOS users or .exe file for Windows users then following on-screen instructions provided during installation setup process
A trial period lasting up to fifteen days is available requiring online registration which necessitates an active internet connection throughout both trial registration processes

AmpliTube 5 CS is the free version of IK Multimedia’s guitar and bass workstation. As part of this promotion, new users can access four bonus gear models without charge.

Illements Launches Free Bass Rompler Plugin Drop The Bass 01 for Mac and Windows

Illements has released a new bass rompler plugin named Drop The Bass 01, available for both Mac and Windows platforms. This plugin is offered in VST3 and AU formats and is free to download.
Drop The Bass 01 features a collection of 100 synth bass sounds tailored for modern House and Tech House music production. The library includes punchy analog basses, deep sub-basses, chunky Tech House basses, funky Disco House basses, UK House FM basses, organ basses, and 303-inspired sounds.
The presets included in the plugin are of premium quality, extracted from Abletunes’ premium templates. Each sound is multi-sampled from analog synthesizers and comes EQed, saturated, compressed, and ready for mixing.

Big Fish Audio Launches Momentum 2.0 Free Loop Slicer Plugin for Windows and Mac

Big Fish Audio has released Momentum 2.0, a free loop slicer plugin designed for both Windows and Mac platforms. This updated version allows users to slice and transform samples efficiently. It includes a powerful browser, a standalone application, and offers an upgrade option to Momentum Pro.
The pro version is available through a monthly subscription, providing advanced features such as the ability to purchase individual loops, import and organize personal audio files, and support for MP3 files.
Key features of Momentum 2.0 include a comprehensive browser that allows navigation through loops and samples by instrument, genre, key, tempo, and more. Users can also access professional loop libraries and construction kits built specifically for Momentum.
The plugin offers 18 different slice effects including pitch, stutter, delay, reverse, among others. It supports loading and manipulating WAV or AIFF files with additional MP3 support available in the pro version.
MIDI editing capabilities are included in the plugin; each slice is assigned its own MIDI note for rearrangement purposes. Additionally, there is a one-shot engine that enables users to find and play perfect one-shots from any loop or sample section.

Tiagolr Launches Gate-12 Free Volume Modulation Plugin for Multiple Platforms

Tiagolr has released a new volume modulation plugin named Gate-12. This plugin is available for multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. It operates under the GPL-3.0 license and is currently at version 1.0.0, which was released on May 15, 2025.
Gate-12 features a cross-platform envelope generator designed for gate and volume control. It draws inspiration from existing plugins such as GrossBeat and ShaperBox. Users will find a variety of presets included to facilitate different audio processing needs.
The plugin offers an audio trigger function that utilizes audio transients to initiate actions. It also supports pattern synchronization changes according to beat positions. Users can take advantage of multi-point selection for dragging, scaling, and skewing within the interface.
A revamped paint-mode allows users to create custom patterns with ease. The built-in sequencer aids in pattern building and randomization, providing flexibility in sound design. Additionally, the plugin supports undo and redo functions for user convenience.
The multi-segment editor enables detailed editing capabilities with 12 patterns that can be triggered via MIDI notes. Paint mode includes user-defined shapes with various point types such as hold, curve, s-curve, and stairs.
Gate-12 supports tempo synchronization or LFO rate adjustments in Hertz (Hz). It also includes attack and release smoothing features to refine audio transitions. Users can view pre and post waveform displays within the interface.
The plugin offers both MIDI and audio trigger modes alongside its sequencer and randomizer functionalities.
For download options, Gate-12 is available in VST3 and LV2 formats across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms. An AU format is specifically available for macOS users. Future support for the Clap format will be added once JUCE support becomes available.
Build instructions require cloning the repository along with its submodules. Detailed build instructions are provided for each platform: Windows, Linux, and macOS.
It should be noted that macOS builds are currently untested and unsigned; however, commands are provided to remove quarantine flags on this platform if necessary.
Jon V Audio Fircomp 2 Compressor Plugin Released for Free Download on Win Mac and Linux

The FIRCOMP 2 compressor plugin, developed by Jon V Audio, is now available for free download. This plugin is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. It is offered in several formats: a 64-bit VST3 for Windows, an Intel/M1 64-bit VST3 for Mac OSX version 10.13 and above, an Intel/M1 64-bit Audio Unit (AU2) for Mac OSX version 10.11 and above, and a Linux x64 version intended for testing purposes.
FIRCOMP 2 features an ultra-clean peak compressor/limiter with a punchy attack and musical release. It includes optional lookahead smoothing and is suitable for use on individual tracks or busses. The plugin operates with zero or low latency and has low CPU usage.
For users installing the plugin on Mac OSX, it is important to run the RUN_ME_FIRST.command file before copying the plugin files or bundles to system locations. If there are issues running this file, users may need to adjust their settings in System Preferences under Security. A video tutorial is available on YouTube to assist with installation procedures.
The recommended version of FIRCOMP 2 is version 2.1.1 as of January 18th, 2022. This version maintains full backwards compatibility with settings and presets from the May 16 release while introducing new and improved features. The May 16 version has no known bugs other than an issue where VCA feedback affects the ratio.
