Pulse Audio Offers Free Download of The Lucky Harp Kontakt Library from Bad Cat Samples

Bad Cat Samples has released “The Lucky Harp,” a Celtic Harp instrument available for free download through Pulse Audio. This product is designed for use with the full retail version of Kontakt 5.3 or later and is not compatible with Kontakt Player.
The Lucky Harp offers a deeply sampled experience, featuring recordings made with high-end equipment such as the Royer 121 microphone and crystal clean preamps. The instrument’s sound is captured dry, allowing users to apply their own reverb or utilize the included custom impulse response.
The library includes both diatonic and chromatic versions of the harp, providing flexibility in musical applications. Users have control over various parameters including attack, release, reverb, and a gentle EQ boost or cut at 12k.
With six velocity layers and six round robins, each string offers 36 unique samples. The library comprises over 900 samples in 24bit / 48kHz .wav format, resulting in a total size of 470 MB.
Originally priced at $30.00, The Lucky Harp is currently available for $10.00. However, it can be downloaded for free using the code: BADCATFREE.
Gooey Launches Shimmer Dimension Expander Free for One Week

Gooey Audio has announced the release of Shimmer, a new dimension expander plug-in. This tool is designed to enhance the dimensionality of audio tracks by adding intransitive reverberations. It aims to provide versatility for users looking to expand and add shine to their sound projects.

Quietformat Launches Free Tiltone Tone Shaper Plugin for Mac and Windows

Quietformat has released a new tone shaper plugin named TILTONE, available for both Mac and Windows platforms. This plugin is designed to provide users with a minimal and intuitive interface for adjusting the tonal quality of their audio projects.
TILTONE is compatible with VST3 and AU formats on Mac, while Windows users can access it in the VST3 format. The plugin allows users to modify their sound by making it either darker or brighter using a single knob. This feature enables subtle sound shaping or more pronounced tonal adjustments, adding natural harmonic richness as the control is pushed further.

Chaos Tones Launches Free Edition of Deviant Drums for Kontakt Player

Chaos Tones has introduced a free edition of Deviant Drums, available for use with Kontakt Player 8.1. This edition is offered at no cost and can be downloaded directly from the company’s website.
The Deviant Drums – FREE Edition is compatible with macOS versions 13, 14, and 15, as well as Windows 10 and 11. Users will need an Intel Core i5 processor or equivalent, or Apple Silicon, along with a minimum of 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended). The software requires graphics support for Direct 3D 11.1 or higher and at least 2 GB of free disk space.
The Deviant Drums – FREE Edition features an intuitive mixer with flexible routing options. Each drum includes tone shaping capabilities and keyswitching functions. The master section provides buss compression, EQ settings, and saturation controls.
Users can customize their sound through individual EQs for each drum component, transient designers, reverb settings, master compression options, master EQ adjustments, master saturation controls, and output routing choices. Additional features include mapping capabilities and velocity modifiers.
The drums were recorded in a treated room with noise levels as low as 20db. Each drum offers up to seven round robins and eight velocity layers per drum or cymbal. Per-drum control includes options for close mic placement as well as overhead and room mics.
Additional functionalities include EDM unison for stacking internal electric and acoustic sounds along with four tonal keyswitch options. Users can also utilize linked controls such as Tom-Link options and “smash buttons,” alongside multiple saturation choices.
This free edition includes one kit; however, users interested in more extensive features may consider the full version which offers additional snares, unique full drum kits, cymbals, full automation capabilities along with over seventy presets among other enhancements.
Mastering The Mix Launches Free EQ Academy Training Tool for Mac and Windows

Mastering The Mix has introduced EQ Academy, a free ear-training tool for music producers. This tool is designed to improve users’ EQ skills through a gamified experience and is available for both Mac and Windows platforms.
EQ Academy features 100 interactive levels that focus on enhancing users’ instincts in gain, frequency, Q, and mid/side adjustments. The tool emphasizes hands-on practice by providing real-time ear training, which encourages active learning and progress.
Users can track their improvement with real-time statistics and compare their skills with others globally. The platform also offers competitive battles where users can test their EQ skills against other producers.
The Challenge Builder feature allows users to target specific weak spots by importing their favorite tracks for customized training. Access to EQ Academy is free; however, users must subscribe to the Mastering The Mix mailing list to gain entry.
System requirements for the tool include OS X 13.3 or higher for Mac, with Apple Silicon Native support, and Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11 for PC users.
Additional features include unlocking personal stats after completing ten levels and accessing the Challenge Builder after twenty levels. Song imports become available after thirty levels of completion. Consistency in usage is rewarded with streak bonuses, while battles offer opportunities for competitive engagement.
The gameplay involves matching EQ settings to a target using various parameters, with challenges becoming progressively more complex as users advance through the levels.
FKFX Audio Launches Free Obvious Filter 2 Lite Plugin for Windows and Mac

FKFX Audio has released the Obvious Filter 2 Lite (OF2 Lite) plugin, available for free on both Windows and macOS platforms. The plugin is compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 11 Big Sur, supporting both Intel and M1/M2/M3/M4 native compilation.
OF2 Lite is offered in VST/VST3 and AudioUnit formats. It includes a range of features such as a Low Pass Filter (LP2) by Laurent De Soras, a Morph Sequencer & Morph Editor, and an Easy Morph Points Editor. Users can access multiple editing functions including Smooth, Normalize, Flip (Vertical/Horizontal), Double, Mirror, Roll (Left/Right), and Choppers.
The plugin provides three morphing modes: Immediate, Morph, and Linear. Additional tools include a Morph Manager & Morph Knob Menu, Point Mode & Selection Tools, Drawing Tools like Pencil, Square, Line, as well as new tools such as ATTACK and DECAY.

An interactive help section assists users in navigating the plugin’s features efficiently. OF2 Lite ensures fast plugin load times with a sync-accurate visualizer offering four modes alongside an Editor Echo Visualizer for sample precision.
Selectable I/O VU-Meters are available along with a Global Preferences Panel for customization options.
The lite version does not include certain features available in the full version such as Diode Distortion, Influx, Sylab, Ring Modulation, OSC Generator among others.
