The system requirements for running deFORM 2 are as follows: Windows systems must be running version 7, 8, or 10 or above with at least 4 GB of RAM and 2 GB of free disk space. For Mac systems, OS X version 10.9.5 Mavericks or above is required along with the same RAM and disk space specifications as Windows systems. It should be noted that deFORM 2 is not compatible with M1 Silicon Computers.

To download deFORM 2, users need to visit an external website where they must create an account to redeem and download the product.

Haven Audio Launches CODA Free Mix Enhancer Plugin for Mac and Windows

Expiry: None

Haven Audio has released a new plugin called CODA, designed to enhance audio mixes. This free mix enhancer is available for both Mac and Windows platforms. CODA aims to improve the quality of audio mixes by adding a powerful punch without relying on traditional tools such as compressors or limiters, which can often compress the dynamics of sound.

The plugin employs “phase-smashing” technology, a novel approach that increases phase information at specific frequencies. This technique offers significant transient enhancements for kicks, 808s, and drums. The process involves rotating the phase of a signal at a chosen frequency. The “amount” control in CODA determines how many times the signal is rotated, creating an audio artifact that alters the character of transients without adding extra gain. This helps preserve the original quality and headroom of the audio.

CODA can be effectively used to enhance the relationship between kick, bass, or 808 sounds. It is also suitable for improving guitar tracks or applying to a drum bus to add snap and body to a mix. The plugin is designed to be beginner-friendly while helping users achieve professional-level drum clarity without changing the dynamics of the original audio source.

For those interested in exploring this new tool, CODA is available for download on both Mac and Windows platforms. Users can find documentation and further details on Haven Audio’s official website.

Sonimus Launches Free Vintage Tape Delay Plugin DelaySon for Windows and Mac

Expiry: None

Sonimus has released a new plugin named DelaySon, a vintage tape delay tool available for both Windows and Mac users. This plugin is designed to emulate the sound characteristics of classic tape delay units, offering an analog sound experience.

DelaySon features an intuitive interface that provides users with extensive control over delay processing. It supports professional-grade effects while maintaining a modern touch. Users can create vintage slapback delay effects suitable for vocals and guitars, as well as rhythmic delays for synths and drums. The plugin also offers options for experimental sound design, including self-oscillation and pitch-shifting echoes. A preset menu is included to save and recall preferred settings.

For practical applications, DelaySon can be used in various ways:

  • Vintage Slapback Delay (Vocals & Guitars): Set the Time to approximately 120ms or sync it to a 1/16 note. Adjust Feedback between 15-25% for subtle repeats, increase Color slightly for warmth, and use Tone to reduce high frequencies.
  • Rhythmic Delay for Synths & Drums: Sync the Delay Time to 1/8 or dotted 1/8 notes. Set Modulation depth between 25-50% for dynamic movement and push Feedback above 50% for cascading echoes.
  • Experimental & Sound Design: Increase Feedback near infinity for self-oscillation effects. Add high modulation depth for warping effects and use automation on delay time to achieve pitch-shifting echoes.

The plugin supports Mac OSX 10.10 or newer and Windows 10 or newer operating systems. It is compatible with Audio Unit, VST 2.4, VST 3, and AAX platforms, all supporting 64-bit operations. Sample rates are supported up to 192 kHz with both mono and stereo channels available.
