Universal Audio releases free UAD Showtime 64 Tube Amp plugin for Mac and Windows on UA Connect

Universal Audio has released UAD Showtime ’64 Tube Amp, a free native guitar amp plug-in for macOS and Windows, available through UA Connect. The plug-in operates without UA hardware.
The software models a mid-1960s American tube amplifier, including the original circuit topology and tube-driven vibrato. It covers clean-to-overdrive behavior and includes classic speaker cabinet, microphone, and room configurations, along with ready-to-use presets.

Eventide releases Temperance Lite reverb plugin for Windows and Mac as a free download

Eventide has released Temperance Lite, a modal reverb plug-in for Windows and macOS. It is available as a free download through December 31, 2025. Licenses must be registered by March 31, 2026.
Temperance Lite models reverberant spaces as thousands of independent resonances (modes) that can be adjusted in real time. The plug-in allows note-selective control using the 12-note chromatic scale, enabling users to emphasize or de-emphasize specific notes within the reverb tail.
The Temper control adjusts the influence of selected notes on the reverb: at its center setting the plug-in behaves like a conventional reverb; turning it clockwise increases the prominence of selected notes, while turning it counterclockwise reduces them.
Factory content includes 15 presets designed for common use cases and guided learning. Preset spaces include Bright Room, Large Studio, and Synthetic Space.

HoRNet Plugins has launched an online audio mastering service priced at €3.99 per track. A first master is available free with the code FIRSTMASTER.
The service analyzes each upload and automatically adjusts compression, equalization, and related processing to fit the material. Users can choose from four adaptive mastering styles, each applying a different processing approach:
- Vintage: Emulates 1970s–1980s analog workflows, using harmonic saturation, smooth compression, and gentle high-frequency roll-off that adapts to a track’s dynamics.
- Modern Analog: Applies analog-modeled compression and EQ curves that respond to frequency content and dynamics for a contemporary, musical result.
- Modern Digital: Focuses on transparency with clean, adaptive compression and precise frequency shaping based on the audio’s spectral profile.
- Contemporary Extreme: Targets high competitive loudness using adaptive compression and limiting engineered for clarity at elevated levels.
Before committing, users can audition free previews of each style with automatic loudness compensation for level-matched comparisons.
The system provides analysis readouts including integrated loudness (LUFS) and True Peak. Final masters can be downloaded after processing.
Uploads support WAV files up to 100 MB. Processing is adaptive and tailored to the source content.

Novation releases Novation Play virtual instrument at no extra cost for all Launchkey MK4 owners

Novation has released Novation Play, a software instrument created in collaboration with Klevgrand and designed exclusively for Launchkey MK4. It is available at no additional cost for Launchkey MK4 owners via the Focusrite Group customer portal: https://id.focusritegroup.com/en/register
Novation Play provides a library of basses, leads, pads, drum kits, and sound effects captured from hardware synthesizers. The sampled sources include Novation Bass Station II, Nova, and Peak; Sequential Prophet-5 and Prophet Rev2; and Oberheim OB-6. The instrument ships with more than 80 presets.
The interface emphasizes immediate control, with hands-on macros, color‑coded pads, Pad FX, global effects, and fast preset browsing. Preset selection can be navigated from the Launchkey encoder bank’s up/down buttons.
Hardware integration centers on one-to-one control with Launchkey MK4. The eight encoders are automatically mapped to key parameters, and changes are visualized on Play’s grid display. Core functions remain consistent across presets to support consistent operation from the controller.
Drum workflows are mapped to the pad grid: when a drum kit is selected, 12 Launchkey pads illuminate for playing. Per‑pad adjustments for gain, pitch, and panning are accessible from the controller.
Four Pad FX are available on every preset—Chorus, Cassette, Spinner, and Freeze—with on/off toggles assigned to color‑coded pads on the Launchkey.
Global effects include a reverb with its own presets, a delay, and a one‑knob compressor with a hidden gain‑reduction meter.

Jhonatan López releases NoiseRverb free convolution reverb plugin for Windows and Mac capturing the acoustics of historic Quito churches

Jhonatan López has released NoiseRverb, a free convolution reverb plugin for Windows and Mac. The plugin was presented at AES 2025 and was developed in C++ using the JUCE framework. Release date: 31 May 2025.
NoiseRverb uses impulse responses measured on-site to capture the architectural acoustics of seven historic churches in Quito. The plugin applies these responses to incoming audio to reproduce the sonic characteristics of each space for music production and immersive audio workflows.
