E instruments releases Slower Fragment free library for Kontakt Player

e-instruments has released Slower Fragment, a free Kontakt instrument that captures half-speed tape recordings from multiple machines. The library includes six presets from the full Slower product and runs in Kontakt 7.10.2 or higher, as well as the free Kontakt Player. Price: €0. Download size: 3.38 GB. Audio format: 24-bit, 48 kHz. NKS and NKS 2 compatible.
The source material was recorded to tape and played back at half speed, resulting in content pitched down by one octave. Sessions used four categories of tape machines to provide contrasting capture paths:
- Studio open-reel: Studer A812, Revox PR99
- Portable open-reel: Uher 4400 Report IC, Uher 4400 Report Monitor
- Cassette multitrack: Tascam Portastudio 424mkiii
- Microcassette dictation: Sony M650v
The preset set includes: Pure Taped Grand, Lush Strings, Alpine Sphere, Animated Flute, LoFi Saw, and Alto Flute.
Three macro controls are provided per patch. Each macro is mapped to multiple parameters, with assignments that can include saturation, delay, reverb/space, brightness, tape wobble, and reverse layers, enabling broad timbral changes from a small number of controls.

Kilohearts unveils Preset Sematary free Phase Plant content bank for Halloween

Kilohearts has released Preset Sematary, a free content bank for the Phase Plant software instrument, available Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Created in collaboration with composer and sound designer XTD, the bank contains 31 retro-style presets oriented toward 80s horror scoring and synthwave production.
XTD began composing in the early 1990s with roots in the Amiga demoscene and now works with contemporary music software. He designs presets for Phase Plant and other instruments, and was among the winners of the Phase Plant 5th Anniversary Giveaway.
Solid State Logic releases SSL 360 Version 2 command centre for 360 degree plugins with free core Plugin Mixer

Solid State Logic has released SSL 360 Version 2, a cross-platform (Mac and Windows) application that centralizes control of SSL 360°-enabled plug-ins, select SSL hardware controllers, and SSL 12/SSL 18 audio interfaces.
The core Plug-in Mixer is included at no cost within SSL 360 and can be used without connected hardware. It provides a single view to load and control all 360°-enabled plug-ins in a DAW session.
Workflow integration is automatic: inserting a 360°-enabled channel strip, Bus Compressor, or Meter in a DAW adds the instance to the Plug-in Mixer; removing the plug-in removes it from the mixer. UC1, UF1, and UF8 controllers can operate the Plug-in Mixer directly.
SSL 360 offers transport control from the Plug-in Mixer interface and via UC1/UF1/UF8 hardware. Up to three DAWs can be connected simultaneously, with quick switching between them. UF8 and UF1 include a Plug-in Mixer control layer, and both provide a customizable MIDI CC layer for external instruments and processors.
DAW support includes templates for Ableton Live, Cubase/Nuendo, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Studio One, LUNA, Pyramix, Mixbus, REAPER, Bitwig, Digital Performer, FL Studio, and Samplitude/Sequoia. Some integration features may require Pro Tools 2024.6 or later.
SSL 360 V2 supports and organizes SSL’s 360°-enabled processing and metering tools:
- 4K G, 4K E, and 4K B channel strip plug-ins
- Channel Strip 2
- Bus Compressor 2 (with additional attack/release ratios, wet/dry, sidechain HPF, and oversampling options)

For SSL 12 and SSL 18 audio interfaces, SSL 360 hosts the software mixers used to configure low-latency headphone mixes, loopback sources, and user-assignable front-panel buttons. The mixers provide per-send pan, level, and mute controls. Headphone outputs can be set to Standard, High Sensitivity, or High Impedance modes, or repurposed as balanced/unbalanced mono outs. Assignable front-panel functions include DIM, CUT, MONO SUM, ALT, INVERT PHASE LEFT, and TALKBACK.
