Vocal Patterns requires the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt, version 6.4.2 or higher. It is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player.

The collection features waterphone performances recorded in a reverberant World War II underground bunker at Godley Head, near Lyttle Harbour, during a November 2025 session. The instrument used was a MEGABASS waterphone, with performances focused on short phrases to interact with the space.

Recording was captured in a 5.0 microphone array. A pair of MKH8020 microphones was positioned at the rear of the bunker, while an LCR front array used MKH8040/8050/8040 microphones mounted on a triple microphone holder bar. Sessions ran for roughly four hours, with improvised articulations performed to explore the bunker’s acoustic response.

The material is suitable for film, television, games, podcasts, and music production. Editors can import the files into standard digital audio workstations and samplers for cutting, processing, and layering.

Orkestr Launches Free Church Carillon Plugin Featuring Eighteen Authentic Sevenum Carillon Bells Available In Original And Extended Versions

Orkestr has released Church Carillon by Bram Daniëls & ORKESTR, a free virtual instrument for Decent Sampler that recreates the carillon in the Dutch town of Sevenum.
The library captures all 18 bells from the carillon housed in the Sint-Fabianus and Sebastianus church, an instrument that has sounded in the town since 1980. Each bell was recorded as part of a multimedia project by ORKESTR in collaboration with researcher Bram Daniëls of TU Eindhoven.
Following a 2022 restoration that added a MIDI system to the physical carillon, the team documented the instrument and assembled a sample set intended to make its timbre accessible to composers and producers. The sampling work ties into a broader project that also includes an EP and a short documentary about the carillon’s role in the community.
The instrument is offered in two editions. The Original version provides the 18 recorded bells. The Extended version supplements these with sampler-tuned bells to increase the playable range while retaining the character of the source recordings.

Fracture Sounds releases free Dream Zither for Kontakt Player in Blueprint series

Fracture Sounds has released Dream Zither, a free instrument in its Blueprint series for Kontakt Player. The library captures a plucked zither recorded in a dry space and adds an optional Atmosphere Layer for evolving tonal beds. It runs in the free Kontakt Player (v8 or later) and supports NKS for use with Komplete Kontrol keyboards.
The instrument was recorded in close stereo and mapped across a four-octave range. A Glissando Controller—first introduced by the company in Compendium: Eldenvale—enables fluid, controllable glissandi for performance and programming.
Key specifications include NCW-compressed content totaling 486.5 MB, derived from a 1 GB sample pool. The library is installed and activated via Native Access 2.

The Glissando Controller works by holding the notes to be glissed and moving a mapped MIDI controller to set speed and direction. A dedicated on/off control activates the mode. Double Octave can mirror held notes an octave above, and Dynamics Mode determines how note dynamics are handled during the glide. The gliss function is mapped to a MIDI CC (CC11 by default), which can be reassigned.
The interface provides quick-access sound shaping:
- Colour: EQ-style brightness control for the overall tone
- Stereo Width: from mono to widened stereo
- Damping: shortens the release of played notes
- Reverb: level control with extended parameters available via a settings cog
- Atmosphere: level control for the Atmosphere Layer, with solo toggle
- Settings: additional options including Sample Start and Dynamic Range
NKS support enables parameter control and browsing from Komplete Kontrol hardware. The implementation provides hands-on access via on-device displays and encoders, supporting accessible workflows for blind and visually impaired musicians.
Dream Zither is positioned for plucked parts, arpeggiations, and expressive glissandi, with the Atmosphere Layer available for more sustained or evolving textures. Its compact footprint and straightforward controls are intended for quick setup and efficient use in DAW projects.
Acustica Audio releases Stone free channel strip plugin for Windows and Mac

Acustica Audio has released Stone, a free channel strip plugin for macOS and Windows. It is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for use in major DAWs.
Stone is an Acqua-series plugin inspired by British broadcast and studio modules from the 1960s and 1970s. It is designed as a coherent, modular signal path that combines input character, drive, equalization, and filtering within a single interface.

- Magic Morph control for continuously blending drive, stereo movement, and spatial depth

It can also be used on buses and submixes—such as drums, keyboards, or backing vocals—to introduce cohesion and additional weight at moderate settings. As a finishing layer, it can provide light enhancement when core sounds are already established.
Stone is permanently free. Existing Aquarius account holders will find it in the My Products section after logging in. New users can locate Stone in the Shop under Holiday Sale or Free, then follow the on-screen steps. Activation occurs automatically via the Aquarius application after download and installation.
