2B Played Music offers 2B Crushed free with coupon CRUSH26
Expiry: April 30th
2B Played Music is offering its 2B Crushed bitcrusher plugin free with the coupon code CRUSH26. The regular price is €39. A seven-day fully functional trial is also available.
2B Crushed is a bitcrusher effect for Windows and macOS. It is provided as VST3 on Windows, and as AU and VST3 on macOS. The current release is version 1.3 for both platforms.
The interface centers on a single, large rotary control for primary adjustment. Operation is stepless, allowing continuous changes to the processing amount.
The plugin includes a built-in peak limiter to manage output levels. A drive option adds controllable distortion, and low-pass and high-pass filters enable frequency shaping before or after the crush stage. A crush booster increases the intensity of the bitcrushing effect.
Typical uses include adding digital edge to vocals, tightening or roughening basslines, introducing grit to guitar tracks, and imparting lo-fi character to synth leads. It can also serve sound design tasks that call for deliberate digital reduction and controlled saturation.
On macOS, 2B Crushed supports native Apple Silicon and Intel x86-64 through a Universal 2 binary.
Windows system requirements include Windows 11, 10, or 8.1 with the Visual C++ Redistributable installed; an Intel Core i3 or AMD multi-core processor (Core i5 or faster recommended); a display resolution of at least 1366 x 768 (1920 x 1080 or higher recommended); 1 GB RAM (4 GB or more recommended); 1 GB of free disk space; and a 64-bit VST3-compatible host application.
macOS system requirements include macOS 10.15 (Catalina) through 15 (Sequoia); 1 GB of free disk space; a 64-bit host application compatible with Audio Units or VST3; and either Intel x86-64 or Apple Silicon hardware.

The Crow Hill Company launches Absurdly Quiet Piano virtual instrument plugin for Windows and Mac as part of its Vault Series
Expiry: October 15th
The Crow Hill Company has released Absurdly Quiet Piano, a virtual instrument for Windows and Mac in its Vault Series. The library focuses on capturing piano performances at exceptionally low dynamics. The release date is March 16, 2026.
The project centers on a single question: how quietly can a piano be played while remaining musically useful. Sampling sessions targeted velocity layers at the threshold of audibility to document the instrument’s response just above silence.
Recording was carried out using Swiss-made Sonosax microphone preamps powered by internal batteries to reduce mains-related interference. Ultra-quiet DPA microphones were placed in close proximity to the soundboard to maximize detail at low levels and minimize room noise.
Post-production aimed to balance noise management with preservation of tone and decay, applying selective noise reduction and filtration to maintain the instrument’s character at very soft dynamics.
Absurdly Quiet Piano is positioned for applications that require intimate, close-miked piano textures. Potential uses include film and game scoring, ambient and experimental music, contemporary classical writing, and layering with other piano libraries to introduce ultra-soft attack and resonance without increasing perceived loudness.
- Virtual instrument for Windows and Mac
- Part of The Crow Hill Company’s Vault Series
- Sampled at extremely low velocity layers near the threshold of audibility
- Capture chain: Sonosax mic preamps (battery powered) and close-positioned DPA microphones
- Post-production focused on low-noise presentation while retaining natural harmonics and decay
- Initial availability: free for the first six months after release
- Subsequent access: archived for an additional six months, then available via a small charitable donation
