NoiseAsh Heater v2 Goes Free from Its Usual $129 Price
Expiry: October 9th
NoiseAsh is offering Heater v2, its saturation and tone-shaping plugin, as a free download for a limited two-week period. The plugin normally lists for $129. Claiming it also unlocks $5 off a Palmary Collection v2 offer.
Heater v2 combines two saturation circuits with automatic output gain compensation in Drive mode. Its tube-style harmonic engine can add subtle warmth or stronger distortion, while a dry/wet control allows users to blend processed and unprocessed audio.
The plugin includes two analog EQ models, Solid State (Type I) and EQP1A (Type II), along with low-pass and high-pass filters. A built-in stereo widener provides control over spatial width.
Heater v2 can be used on individual tracks or buses, including vocals, drums, bass and master channels. Its resizable interface is designed for use in digital audio workstations.
The 64-bit plugin is available in VST3, AU and AAX formats for Windows 10 and later, and macOS 11 and later. It supports Apple Silicon and does not require iLok or a dongle. No sample library is included, and the plugin requires 2 GB of free disk space.
YBK Audio Releases Free Standalone VST3 Instrument Player for Windows
Expiry: October 19th
YBK Audio has released Instrument Player, a standalone Windows application for running installed VST3 instruments without opening a digital audio workstation (DAW). It supports Windows 10 and 11, and is available free during its launch month. The company lists its regular price as a one-time payment of $10, with no subscription.
The application scans a computer for VST3 instruments and displays them in a searchable list. Users can mark instruments as favourites, load them at the size of the plugin’s own interface and play them using connected MIDI controllers or the computer keyboard. A built-in instrument called Starter Synth is included.
Instrument Player can also host VST3 audio effects, which users can arrange in a processing chain after an instrument. Audio output is supported through WASAPI shared or exclusive mode and DirectSound. The application displays CPU use and latency; YBK Audio says WASAPI exclusive mode can run at around 5–10 milliseconds, depending on the setup.
A MIDI Replay feature keeps the previous five minutes of playing in memory, without requiring users to start recording. Captured notes can be edited in a piano-roll interface using tools such as quantise, copy, paste and duplicate, then exported as a standard MIDI file. The app exports MIDI data, not audio, and does not provide audio recording or export.
Instrument Player accepts MIDI devices connected while the app is running. Users without a controller can press M to play notes from the computer keyboard, with one or two rows of keys and controls for changing octaves. The app remembers the last instrument and patch, audio device and output volume.
Licenses claimed during the free launch period remain valid, but include only versions released during that period. YBK Audio says versions released from October 20 will require the paid app; free launch licenses will continue to run the last version released before then.
A license can be used on one computer at a time and moved to another computer once every 30 days. The company says the installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows may display a SmartScreen warning when it is first run.

Pine DSP Blox Delay Offered Free as Gift of the Month
Expiry: October 31st
Pine DSP’s Blox Delay is available as a free Gift of the Month, listed at a value of $19. The offer runs through October 31 and requires adding any current Deal to the cart, then claiming the gift on the cart page.
The delay plugin has Normal, Ping Pong and Diffuse modes. Normal provides stereo repeats, while Ping Pong alternates repeats across the stereo field. Diffuse mode turns distinct echoes into smoother, continuous tails.
Delay times range from 1 to 8,000 milliseconds, with independent settings for each channel. The plugin can run freely or sync repeats to the host DAW tempo. High-pass and low-pass filters in the feedback loop shape the repeats, and a Wash control adjusts the density of Diffuse-mode tails.
An integrated ducker includes Depth, Threshold, Attack and Release controls. It reduces the wet delay signal while the dry input is playing, allowing the delay to rise between phrases.
Blox Delay is available in VST3, AU and AAX formats for macOS and Windows. Pine DSP lists vocals, guitars, synthesizers and drums among its possible uses.

MIDI parameters are mapped automatically for Arturia keyboards. Other MIDI controllers can be mapped manually.

Mad House Audio Offers Free TB 303 Style Acid Bass Synth
Expiry: None
Mad House Audio has released ACID-O, a free, monophonic TB-303-style bass synthesizer plugin for macOS and Windows. The VST3 instrument is designed for acid basslines and rhythmic low-end parts.
Its sound engine includes two oscillators with saw, square, sine and triangle waveforms, plus a dedicated sub oscillator. Two parallel filters can be routed independently for each oscillator, or bypassed. Filter features include cutoff inertia, resonance that changes with cutoff, slow drift and output-stage saturation.
A built-in randomizer offers five profiles: Acid House, Tech House, Afro House, Techno and Deep House. It generates key- and scale-aware patterns, and users can lock individual panels to preserve settings while randomizing others.
The 64-step sequencer is arranged across four pages. Each step can include note, octave, gate, accent, slide and tie settings. The sequencer also supports swing and host tempo synchronization.
Modulation options include two LFOs and two envelopes, which can be assigned to most controls by dragging and dropping. A custom LFO editor supports up to 16 breakpoints. The plugin also includes a limiter with metering, animated waveforms, factory presets organized by genre and a resizable interface.

AURORA by 13x Audio Debuts as Free 24 Band Dynamic EQ for Windows macOS and Linux
Expiry: None
13x Audio has introduced AURORA, a free equalizer plug-in for Windows, macOS and Linux. It supports up to 24 bands, with a live spectrum display and static or dynamic EQ controls for each band.

AURORA’s Smart Ops functions can match a reference, detect resonances, de-ess, apply high- or low-cut suggestions, and help unmask one track against another. The plug-in displays proposed changes on the EQ graph before they are applied. Suggestions are written as editable bands, and Revert can undo Smart Ops changes without removing subsequent manual edits.
Other features include mid/side and left/right processing, per-band solo and bypass, A/B comparisons, undo and redo, and a Delta mode that isolates the difference made by the EQ. Auto gain is available to keep comparisons at similar loudness. The analyzer supports frequency precision up to an 8192-point FFT.
Three processing modes are listed: zero-latency, Natural and linear phase. The linear-phase mode reports its latency to the host for delay compensation. The plug-in also includes 41 factory presets and a window for viewing and comparing multiple AURORA instances in a project.
Version 1.5.1, published September 30, adds a modifier-drag gesture for locking a band node to frequency or gain, and a hold-to-solo option for auditioning a band. The release also adds fades to the Listen function and fixes issues with node dragging and band deletion. The update is compatible with projects and presets from version 1.5.
AURORA supports VST3 and CLAP on Windows; VST3, AU and CLAP on macOS; and VST3, CLAP and LV2 on Linux. Listed minimum requirements include Windows 10 or 11, macOS 11 or later, or Linux with glibc 2.35 or later. The plug-in requires a 64-bit host and supports sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz.
The product is listed as free, with no account or license key required, and is designed to work offline. At the time of the announcement, the download page said the builds were not yet live.
