Boomer Hotel releases NULLIFY codec audition and null test plugin now free for Mac and Windows with code BHPLUGINS2026
Expiry: August 31st
Boomer Hotel has released NULLIFY, a codec audition and null-test plugin for macOS and Windows. The tool processes audio through the same encoder families used by major streaming platforms, time-aligns the result with the unencoded signal, and enables direct comparison in real time. Version 1.0.0 is available as an Audio Unit and VST3.
Inserted on a master or bus, the plugin encodes the live signal, reports codec latency to the host, and aligns the encoded path for sample-accurate A/B testing. Users can switch between three listening modes: the dry ORIGINAL, the encoded CODEC output, and the DIFFERENCE (a phase-inverted subtraction that reveals the residual between the two). A null-depth readout indicates how closely the encoded signal matches the source.
Supported codec targets include:
- Spotify Ogg Vorbis at 320 kbps, 160 kbps, and 96 kbps
- Spotify Web AAC at 256 kbps and 128 kbps
- Apple Music AAC at 256 kbps (using Apple’s encoder)
In use, the DIFFERENCE mode exposes what is altered by the encoding stage, such as high-frequency artifacts, pre-echo, changes in stereo width, or low-frequency shifts. Monitoring the encoded output can also help identify potential clipping or inter-sample peaks introduced after recompression. The workflow is designed for pre-release checks: insert the plugin, select a target tier, and compare ORIGINAL, CODEC, and DIFFERENCE while the track plays.
Key features:
- Real-time codec auditioning on any track or bus
- Sample-accurate time alignment with DAW latency reporting
- Original/Codec/Difference monitoring with gain-compensated null listening
- Null-depth metering to quantify residual differences
- Compatibility with common DAWs, including Logic, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, and Reaper
Technical notes state Vorbis encoding via libsndfile and AAC via Apple’s encoder. One license covers both macOS and Windows across AU and VST3 formats. The plugin is priced at $19, with a current offer making it free at checkout when using the code BHPLUGINS2026.
NULLIFY is positioned as an analysis tool. Spotify and Apple Music are trademarks of their respective owners and are not affiliated with the product.
Session Loops releases PitchNet free AI resynthesis voice tuning plugin for Mac and Windows
Expiry: None
Session Loops has released PitchNet, a free and open-source voice tuning plugin for macOS and Windows.
PitchNet applies AI resynthesis to reconstruct tuned vocals rather than only time-warping the original waveform. This approach rebuilds transitions and tone across notes during pitch correction.
The plugin detects vocal pitch and presents editable note regions, allowing users to adjust intonation and modify melodies without working directly on raw waveforms.
Integration with ARA in compatible DAWs enables timeline-aware operation, faster audio analysis, and editing that remains aligned with the project arrangement.
On Windows, PitchNet is available in VST3 and AAX formats. On macOS, it is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats. The macOS build supports Apple Silicon only.
Use cases include corrective vocal tuning, melodic edits, and key or scale adjustments within a DAW workflow.
PitchNet is entered in the KVR Developer Challenge 2026.

Straight Ahead Studio Reverb convolution plugin now free for Windows and Mac
Expiry: Unknown
Straight Ahead Samples has released Straight Ahead Studio Reverb, a convolution reverb plugin for macOS and Windows. It is available as a free download.
The plugin provides a large studio reverb designed to help blend instruments, particularly with the company’s sample libraries. It can also be used to place any source within a consistent studio space during mixing.
Straight Ahead Studio Reverb is offered in AAX, AU, VST, and VST3 formats, enabling use in major digital audio workstations across both platforms.
As a convolution reverb, it processes audio using impulse responses to reproduce the characteristics of recorded acoustic environments. Typical applications include adding realistic room ambience, matching the spatial character of sampled and live instruments, and establishing a unified depth field across a mix.
Acon Digital releases free Multiply 2 chorus effect plugin for Windows and Mac
Expiry: None
Acon Digital has released Multiply 2, a free chorus effect plug-in for Windows and macOS.
The processor generates up to six additional voices and applies a phase‑randomizing filter to each one to reduce comb‑filtering artifacts at short delay times. It is intended for ensemble thickening and stereo widening without the typical phase issues associated with conventional chorus effects.
Pitch (frequency) and loudness (amplitude) modulation are controlled independently, each with separate rate and depth parameters. Modulation can be set for subtle movement or more pronounced effects.
Multiply 2 includes a modulated pre‑delay and a five‑band equalizer dedicated to the effect signal, with low cut, low shelf, mid bell, high shelf, and high cut filters. Adjustable slopes and a graphical frequency response display are provided.
Workflow features include undo/redo, A/B comparison, a preset manager, factory presets, and user preset saving and categorization. Mono and true‑stereo processing are supported, with sampling rates up to 96 kHz.
Typical applications include doubling vocals or instruments, widening mono sources into stereo, and creating diffuse, modulated echoes for sound design.
Plug-in formats:
- Windows: VST, VST3, AAX
- macOS: AU, VST, VST3, AAX
Host compatibility includes common DAWs and editors such as Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, FL Studio, Reason, Luna, Audition, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Media Composer. Users of older or unlisted hosts should verify compatibility.
Key features:
- Chorus with up to six separate voices
- Phase‑randomized filtering per voice to limit comb filtering
- Independent amplitude and frequency modulation with rate and depth
- Adjustable pre‑delay with modulation
- Integrated five‑band EQ for the effect signal

Dystopian Waves offers DroX II Pro glitch and stutter plugin as free download for Windows VST3 and AMXD M4L device
Expiry: Unknown
Dystopian Waves has released DroX II Pro, a glitch and stutter audio effect available as a free download. The release includes a Windows VST3 plugin and an Ableton Max for Live device (AMXD).
DroX II Pro is intended for creating glitch-style edits and stuttered repeats that interrupt or reshape incoming audio. It can be used to impose rhythmic cuts, jittered fragments, and abrupt timing shifts characteristic of glitch and stutter processing.
The AMXD version integrates with Ableton Live’s Max for Live environment, allowing use within Live’s device chain and session workflows. A compatible version of Ableton Live with Max for Live is required to load the AMXD device.
Typical applications include adding momentary interruptions to drum patterns, injecting stuttered accents into synth lines, and chopping vocals or sampled material for transitions, fills, and breakdowns. The effect can be placed on individual tracks or on buses for broader, scene-wide variations.
