Lutheal Piano Edition Cimbalom now free from Realsamples requires full version of Kontakt for Windows and Mac

Realsamples is offering Luthéal Piano – Edition Cimbalom as a limited free download for Kontakt on Windows and macOS. The library normally retails for $39.99 and requires the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt.
The set captures the cimbalom register of the Luthéal, a Pleyel grand piano modified by an iron mechanism invented by Georges Cloetens. The sampled instrument is the only surviving original Luthéal, preserved at the Musical Instrument Museum in Brussels. The cimbalom stop combines the “clavecin” and “harp tirée” mechanisms to produce a dulcimer-like, percussive timbre.
The source mechanism dates to 1922 and was recorded in detail to reflect its mechanical character. The library is sampled chromatically and is designed to reproduce the instrument’s prepared-piano textures and metallic resonance associated with the cimbalom register.

Ultimate MIDI Plugin is offering its UChord software as a free download for Windows until June 15.
UChord is designed to assist with chord input and arrangement in MIDI-based workflows. It provides tools to build and trigger chords, organize progressions, and route MIDI output to virtual instruments or other tracks.

Bogren Digital releases IRDX Studio free IR loader plugin for Mac and Windows

Bogren Digital has released IRDX Studio, a free impulse response (IR) loader plugin for Mac and Windows. The plugin is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats and runs natively on Apple Silicon.
IRDX Studio is designed for loading and shaping guitar cabinet impulse responses. It includes a graphical mixer that blends up to five IRs at once. Each slot offers individual EQ, phase, and resonance controls to refine tone and alignment.
The plugin’s library tools are built for handling large IR collections. Users can mark favorites, hide duplicates, browse recent files, and use a preview mode to hear an IR before loading it into the mixer. A dedicated Audition Mode enables quick comparisons without disrupting an existing blend.
Factory content is included to get started, and users can export their own IRs from within the plugin. The loader is designed to preserve IR content without automatic trimming, default EQ, or resampling.
An optional IRDX Technology section can be unlocked to add non-linear speaker dynamics on top of static IRs. This module models real speaker behavior—such as compression and breakup—to introduce dynamics that IRs alone do not capture. The IRDX add-on is priced at 49€, and a free trial is available from inside the plugin.
IRDX Studio is intended for guitarists, producers, and mixers who rely on IR-based cabinet workflows and need fast auditioning, flexible blending, and streamlined library management across modern DAWs.

Goodhertz releases LA 210 free beta compressor and clipper plugin for Mac and Windows

Goodhertz has released LA-210, a free beta dynamics and saturation plugin for macOS and Windows. The plugin combines an opto compressor, soft clipper, cassette tape model, and brickwall limiter in a single interface.
LA-210 draws on existing Goodhertz processing: the opto compressor from Tupe, the “Chino” soft clip mode from VCME, the FE90 cassette tape model and tape speed control from Tupe Wow, and a brickwall limiter also from VCME.
The initial public release is Beta 1, version 3.14.0 (build 2b8264e). It is part of the company’s Free Series and is planned to remain free after the beta period. The developers note that the software is still being refined and that additional beta updates may follow.
The plugin includes an advanced-controls page for deeper adjustment beyond the main interface. Users can reference the version 3.14 manual for detailed control descriptions.
