Audiolatry has introduced a new ROMpler plugin, Easy Strings, available for free or on a pay-what-you-want basis for both Mac and Windows users. The plugin is a free VST/VST3 & AU instrument for digital audio workstations (DAWs) on Windows and macOS platforms.

Easy Strings features samples recorded from violin, viola, and cello ensembles. However, it does not provide in-depth sampling, offering only one velocity layer. The aim behind this plugin is to offer a simple and compact instrument that can be used to create effective melodies in EDM genres. For more complex scores, users may need to explore other instruments, as there are numerous free and paid alternatives available.
The Easy Strings plugin is divided into three pages: Violin, Viola, and Cello. Each page offers four playing techniques of the respective instrument: Sustain Vibrato, Tremolo, Pizzicato, and Spiccato. This results in a total of 12 presets. The Sustain Vibrato and Tremolo are looped for continuous play.
The GUI of Easy Strings includes standard controls and effects such as ADSR envelope, global gain & panning, reverb, delay, chorus, and a lofi module. The plugin can be a useful production tool for simple compositions in musical genres such as EDM, Hip Hop, Pop, RnB, House, and more.
Some of the key features of Easy Strings include multi-sampled violin, viola, and cello, 44.1kHz 16bit audio quality, 100% royalty-free, and a small disk size of only 134 MB. It also offers global gain & panning, a reverb module, a chorus module, a delay module, a lo-fi module, and an ADSR envelope.
Interested users can download the Easy Strings plugin from the Audiolatry website. As it is available on a pay-what-you-want basis, users have the flexibility to decide how much they wish to pay for the plugin.
