This engine also includes a high-quality saturation and filtering circuit, along with a ‘Buzz’ circuit for adding a buzzy ‘broken speaker cone’ effect.
The second engine, referred to as ‘Layer’, uses a model of the ‘supersaw’ oscillator found in the Roland JP8000 synthesiser. This oscillator comes with a selection of operating ‘modes’ that configure the oscillator to play in intervals and add various amounts of cross-modulation. This feature allows users to create a range of sounds including noisy retro synth sounds, fuzzy glitches, or pure noise.
One of the standout features of Thump One is its flexible envelopes. There is one for each major parameter, with a unique ‘automatic curve’ feature that allows users to quickly dial in the exact shape they need, eliminating the need to adjust fiddly curve breakpoints or beziers. The plugin also boasts an intuitive layout with a modern twist, differentiating it from other vintage ‘mono-synth’ designs.
Thump One comes with 150 presets created by professional sound designers, covering everything from thunderous sub bases to raucous acid leads. These presets can be a great starting point for users to explore the capabilities of the plugin and to create their own unique sounds.
