FabFilter Simplon

The FabFilter Simplon is a powerful and sophisticated audio filter plugin that has been designed specifically to provide you with the highest quality sound. It is a simplified version of the FabFilter Volcano 2, featuring two independent multimode filters offering low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass responses with slopes of 12/24/48 dB/octave. You can use the filters in either serial or parallel mode. The Simplon’s filters have been designed to create the most fat and smooth self-oscillating digital filters possible, ensuring a raw yet high-quality sound, even at full resonance.

Each filter provides three different filter characteristics that define the unique sound and overdrive of the filter, ranging from smooth with moderate overdrive to self-oscillating madness. Coupled with the response and slope settings, the FabFilter Simplon offers up to 27 different filter types. The large interactive filter display shows both filter curves and allows you to adjust them separately or together. The Simplon also includes all the usual FabFilter features such as perfectly fine-tuned knobs that work in both vertical and circular drag modes, interactive MIDI Learn, and sample accurate automation for all parameters.

System Requirements

For Mac users, macOS 10.12 or higher (Intel or M1 Apple Silicon processor) (64-bit only) is required, with VST2, VST3, AU, AAX Native formats supported. Windows users should have Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, or Vista (32 or 64-bit) and support for VST2, VST3, AAX Native formats. All FabFilter plug-ins are available in VST, VST3, Audio Units, AAX Native and AudioSuite formats.
