REFERENCE 2 by Mastering The Mix is a powerful tool designed to give you a closer sound to your favorite mixes. It solves the common problem of mixes not sounding as good as reference tracks, promising a wealth of tools and insights to enhance your audio production.

Some key benefits of REFERENCE 2 include the ability to compare your track to up to 12 reference tracks, instantly match the loudness of your track and references, gain visual and actionable insights to shape your sound, and a bonus plugin called REFSEND which offers loudness-matched A/B comparison.

The process of using REFERENCE 2 is straightforward:

• Load an instance of REFERENCE as the final plugin on your master bus. Drag and drop your desired reference tracks onto the Wave Transport.
• Level Match – Your mix may be significantly quieter than your reference tracks. The Level Match button allows fair comparison and informed mixing decisions.
• Gain Insights – The Trinity Display shows how your EQ balance, stereo width, and compression compares to your reference track. It enables you to isolate a frequency band so you can understand the subtle differences between your mix and your references.

System requirements for Mac include macOS 10.10 or higher (Apple M1 Silicon supported) and an AU, VST 2/3 or AAX host (64-bit only). For Windows, REFERENCE 2 requires Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11 and a VST 2/3 or AAX host (64-bit only). The plugin comes available in VST, VST3, Audio Units and AAX formats (64-bit only) and is compatible with Pro Tools 11 and later only.
