Arthelion has recently launched Moloss II, a free hybrid synth plugin for Windows. This new software is a virtual synth that is available as either a VST plugin or a standalone executable file. Its primary function is to recreate analog vintage sounds by merging several techniques that were prevalent in the 1980s.
Moloss II is equipped with four voices that blend Subtractive synthesis, additive synthesis, frequency (or phase) modulation, and cross modulation. This combination allows for a broad sound range while maintaining a light CPU load. The plugin also features a default polyphony of 64 notes, along with two mono “solo” modes.
To enhance live expressivity, numerous parameters can be modulated with controllers. Furthermore, Moloss II boasts a full embedded file-based preset management system. The new version II of this plugin brings several stability fixes and an appealing new design by Lozzec, which significantly improves usability.
Arthelion’s Moloss II is available for download in both 32 and 64-bit Windows versions. The download link is accessible via the SourceForge website. This free hybrid synth plugin is a valuable addition to any music producer’s toolkit, especially those seeking to recreate analog vintage sounds with modern technology.
In conclusion, the release of Moloss II by Arthelion presents users with a free, robust, and versatile synth plugin. Its combination of different synthesis techniques and modulation options makes it a unique tool for creating a wide range of sounds. The addition of stability fixes and an improved design in this latest version enhances the overall user experience.
