Softube TAPE

Softube’s Tape plug-in is a unique audio software that adds cohesion and weight to your mixes, going far beyond the average tape machine emulation. It offers three different tape machine types within one plug-in and is designed with easy-to-use features that will not strain your CPU.

Tape includes Type A, based on a classic Swiss high end reel-to-reel machine known for its precision and linearity; Type B, a transformer based machine that adds weight and creaminess to the low end; and Type C, based on a British tape machine with a distinct vintage vibe.

With this plug-in, you can choose your favorite tape machine type and adjust the amount knob to your liking. It also includes presets made by award-winning engineers such as Joe Chiccarelli and Howard Willing. For those who want more control, the Remote Control panel offers settings for speed stability, crosstalk amount and other tape-like features.

Despite its dense sound, Softube’s Tape is light on your computer’s processor. It can be used as a single instance on your master bus or on every single track in your mix. Especially for Presonus Studio One users, adding Tape to the MixFX slot provides Tape Multitrack, which includes selectable crosstalk between each individual track and single interface control of all tracks.
